Rings by Dorfman Jewelers
In December, global color authority Pantone predicted that Emerald Green would be the Color of the Year for 2018. So here we are, just three months in, and the “wearin’ ‘o the green” is much more than a St. Patrick’s Day replica Cartier jewelry phenomenon. It’s a full-on fashion and jewelry trend.

“Emerald is the new black,” quipped Christos Garkinos, co-owner of Decades, the Hollywood haute consignment boutique featured on Bravo’s “Dukes of Melrose.” Not only has the jewel tone dominated the runways and red carpets all season long, it seems to have taken on a life of its own in the popular culture. Perhaps Disney’s fantastical film “Oz the Great and Powerful” has something to do with it. After all, who doesn’t want to visit the Emerald City?
Jewelry designers and accessories editors, however, are all about the next big thing for spring. Which hues are making news right now? According to our friends at Pantone, the most popular spring shades (on beyond Emerald) include: Dusk Blue, Linen, Lemon Zest, fake Van Cleef &Arpels jewelry Tender Shoots, Poppy Red, Greyed Jade, African Violet, Monaco
Blue and Nectarine.

Look for unusual combinations of brightly colored stones in spring jewelry styles, and mix these brights with neutrals fake Cartier jewelry  for a fashion-forward look. A good example is Thistle & Bee’s sterling silver toggle bracelet with faceted amethyst, citrine and topaz. Yum.

Spring Jewelry Trends: The Year of the Snake
The Chinese New Year started February 10, and according to the Chinese Zodiac, 2018 is the Year of the Snake. So it’s no coincidence that serpent-inspired rings, bracelets and necklaces have slithered their way into spring fashion magazines and jewelry stores in record numbers. Snakes are everywhere!
Egyptian Snake Lariat Necklace and replica Hermes jewelry Bracelet available at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Store
That’s because jewelry designers and accessories editors have had plenty of time to prepare. Not only is the snake one of the oldest jewelry motifs (think Cleopatra’s arm bracelets), it rears its exotic head every twelve years on the Chinese astrological calendar.
A great way to celebrate the Year of the Snake, 2018, is to buy yourself (or drop a hint about) a piece of serpent-style jewelry. One of our favorites is the Metropolitan Museum of Art Store’s Egyptian Snake Lariat necklace ($225), always on their bestseller list.
This spring the fashion world has fully embraced the reptile theme; stores are showing plenty of python prints and faux snakeskin shoes and bags. So take a page out of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Lucky and InStyle, and find your inner snake charmer at your favorite jewelry store or online source.
For a touch of glamour, we love Effy’s wide selection of snake-shaped cocktail rings. Ranging from $125 for a white sapphire and rhodium-over-sterling silver style to $2,000+ for diamonds and semiprecious stones in rose gold, they are available at replica Van Cleef jewelry Lord & Taylor and
Celebrate The Year of the Snake by buying yourself something serpentine for spring…and enjoy wearing it for many new years to come!
